Kitchen & Skewers
Skewers are salted (shio) unless we say otherwise; brushed ones wear our house tare. Order a few at a time — they're best straight off the coals.
Prices are per skewer (two pieces) unless noted. Small plates are made to share.
Yakitori
Chicken, the whole bird, over white charcoal. Salt or tare — your call.
The one to start with. Dark thigh and sweet charred scallion, salted, until the skin snaps.
Brushed and re-brushed with the house tare, lacquered dark and glossy.
Hand-chopped, a little soft in the middle, served with a cured yolk for dipping.
Wound tight and grilled long until it shatters. The skewer regulars fight over.
Cooked to just-set and faintly pink, rich against the sweet glaze.
The fatty, juicy parson's nose. Salted, with a squeeze of lemon.
From the Garden
The grill isn't only for the bird.
Whole caps, salted, grilled until they give up their smoke.
Sweet and soft inside its blackened skin.
A handful, blistered and salted. A seat-of-the-counter snack.
Small Plates
Cold and warm dishes from the kitchen, to round out the coals.
Lightly torched, fanned over shiso, dressed with warm garlic oil, crisp garlic, and a thread of chili.
Just-seared, finished with toasted sesame, shredded daikon, and a little fresh wasabi.
Blistered in the shell over the coals, tossed in our own smoked salt.
Fried light, sitting in a warm dashi with grated daikon and ginger.
Marinated thigh, fried to order, with a yuzu-kosho mayo for dipping.
Rice & Noodles
To land the meal.
Pressed, brushed with soy, and grilled until the edges go crisp.
The classic — chicken and just-set egg in a sweet-savory broth, over rice.
Hot tea poured over rice and flaked salmon. Quiet, and exactly what you want at the end.
Sunday Ramen
Sundays only, until the pot runs out. Come early.
Clear soy-tare broth from the same birds we skewer all week — chashu, jammy egg, narutomaki, scallion.
Simmered overnight to a deep, creamy broth, with seared chicken chashu and sheets of nori.
